"According to the FBI, there have been 129 confirmed white Christian terrorists in the last 20 years. That includes Timothy McVae, the uni-bomber, the Atlanta Olympics bomber and dozens of family planning centers and abortion clinics. Muslims? 19. Which would make white people the most likely demographic to commit a terrorist attack. So watch your mouth before you call me a terrorist or I’ll knock your fucking teeth out.”
“How in the hell could a man enjoy being awakened at 8:30 a.m. by an alarm clock, leap out of bed, dress, force-feed, shit, piss, brush teeth and hair, and fight traffic to get to a place where essentially you made lots of money for somebody else and were asked to be grateful for the opportunity to do so?”—Charles Bukowski (via considerthishippie)
I’ve done many different kinds of sex work. I’ve been a cam girl, a porn performer, a professional sub, and a performer at a peep show (similar to a stripper). I’ve also been working in retail and food service simultaneously.
I get so frustrated at how I’m treated at work. It really gets to me. I find myself involuntarily crying once I get into my car to drive home. I hate how dehumanizing it is. People don’t acknowledge me as a person. They think I’m less than them because of my job. Maybe they don’t actively think that, but that’s how they treat me. Oh, by the way, I’m talking about the food service job.
When I’m doing sex work I can refuse a customer. I can be rude to them if they are being rude to me. I don’t have to apologize for their mistakes. I don’t have to be sweet when they are being inappropriate. I negotiate my limits, and I only do what I feel comfortable doing. They don’t get to order off the menu, I’m not going to bend over backwards for them.
I find it oppressive to work for minimum wage. I find it oppressive to act like the customer is always right. I find it dehumanizing to apologize for things that aren’t my fault, like how much something costs or if you order something wrong and you want it remade the correct way. I find it dehumanizing to say “Hi! How are you?” and in response get “Yeah I just need a blah blah blah” and then have a customer go back to their cell phone conversation. I hate being reduced to a cash register.
There are more vegan lies to be had! Some filthy vegan was telling me that not all vegans are white, rich Westerners! They tried to convince me that there were vegans of color, poor vegans, and vegans not living in the US! They even tried to use peoples' tumblrs as proof! Can you believe that these peace-spewing scum would do that to us poor omnivores?! How dare they!! You tell them, for I'm certainly too busy to do so! (I bet they falsified those tumblrs too, dirty vegans!)
Oh…..why doesn’t this surprise me? It’s a story as old as time itself. Back to the days when the poor and impoverished had to struggle to survive by only eating lobster and filet mignon, meanwhile the kings and queens would have large parties where they would have a roast, and in that party, they would roast a peanut butter and jelly sandwich…….what distasteful decadence.
Not to mention, the days of slavery, where the slaves would only be fed pork tenderloin and foie gras…….meanwhile the slave masters proudly displaying their elitist attitudes would dine on self-indulgent and hoity toity meals such as rice and beans followed by another snobbish serving of potatoes. What gluttonous arrogance!!!!! I’m afraid it will always be that way.
If there is one thing that Anthony Bourdain proves, it’s that a celebrity chef-faux rebel with a leather jacket, who gets flown all over the world and gets paid millions of dollars all for standing in front of a camera to eat something and say "hmmm….this is good"……. is that vegans are rich, white elitists.
